22-Year-Old Suspect From Tuesday Afternoon’s Shooting Incident Was Arrested - Reason for Altercation Still Unknown

The suspect who was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, after a shooting on the corner of Gedempte Kattendiep and Kleine Peperstraat in the centre of Groningen, is a 22-year-old man from Stad. He was arrested by a special investigating officer (boa) and then handed over to the police.
The victim, who was slightly injured, is a 23-year-old man from Groningen. He did not need to be transferred to the hospital, and his statement has been recorded. According to a police spokesperson, it appears that several shots were fired.
Firearm has been confiscated
The police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting incident. Trace investigations have been carried out and they are looking at whether they can secure camera images. A firearm was secured during the investigation at the Gedempte Kattendiep.
