A coffee shop on Gedempte Zuiderdiep in Groningen was robbed late Thursday night. The robbery happened just before midnight when a suspect threatened the staff with a knife before running away. Luckily, no one was hurt.
The suspect is described as being tall (about 1.80 to 1.90 meters), slim, and wearing a blue hooded jacket, grey pants, white sneakers, gloves, and a balaclava. They also carried a black sports bag. It has been confirmed that some money was taken during the robbery, but it’s unclear how much.
The police arrived quickly and spoke to witnesses to gather information. A message was also sent out through Burgernet, asking residents to keep an eye out for the suspect but warning them not to approach.
The police are investigating the robbery and looking into security camera footage from the area. They are asking anyone who saw something or has helpful information to call 112 immediately.
