‘Discover What You Have’ Campaign to Rediscover and Explore Groningen
Groningen launches summer campaign to inspire local and regional tourism at Westerhaven, 11:00.
This Saturday at 11:00, the summer campaign Discover What You Have kicks off at Westerhaven in Groningen. The campaign encourages both locals and visitors to explore the natural beauty, heritage, and recreational spots across the province.
Building on the success of last year’s edition, this four-year campaign—supported by a subsidy from the province of Groningen—aims to promote sustainable travel and local tourism. It showcases that you don’t need to travel far to enjoy meaningful experiences.
The launch event includes free inspiration guides, a personal Groningen checklist, and information about eco-friendly travel. Visitors will also be introduced to three themed routes:
Return Trip with an Empty Head – for relaxation and mental reset
Return Trip Just a Little Different – for discovering hidden gems
Return Trip from Our Own Soil – for local culture and heritage
“The province believes in the power of tourism and recreation to boost our economy and well-being,” said provincial deputy Susan Top. “We want to inspire people to appreciate the beautiful places in Groningen.”
The campaign is a joint effort by several partners, including the OV-bureau Groningen Drenthe, Arriva, Natuurmonumenten, Routebureau Groningen, and FC Groningen.
