Donald Trump’s Posters Vandalised
Exploring the Trump posters in Groningen being defaced and the message behind it.
Some of you have probably already noticed that the city is covered in posters promoting the new exhibition in Forum Groningen — America & Trump by Andres Serrano. It offers an opportunity to experience Trump’s impact and America's diverse identity. However, this article is not about the exhibition itself.
The advertising posters show Donald Trump’s face, and apparently, someone did not like this idea. A few of the billboards received a small moustache placed underneath the nose of the United States ex-president.
This type of style was first introduced by Charlie Chaplin and later used by a Nazi politician who created the Third Reich. This kind of action falls under vandalising public spaces and should be restricted, however, it begged the question of why Donald Trump received this kind of defacement.
According to publicly available data, Donald Trump said words like those Adolf Hitler used in one of his speeches. Former President Trump insists that he did not acknowledge the comparison was previously used by the dictator.
Additionally, he confirms that he had never read Hitler’s biographical book “Mein Kampf”. There is no proof that Mr. Trump has ever tried to emulate the Nazi leader's ideologies or methods.
Whether it be an unknowing prank or intentional targeting, it is unknown who did it and if the person is going to continue to damage Donald Trump’s image.
