A 49-year-old man from Groningen, with no fixed address, is suspected of stealing 5,760 cans of Red Bull from a distribution centre in Peize. The large haul of energy drinks was intended for a drugstore, as reported by RTV Noord.
Theft at the Distribution Centre
The man was reportedly working at the centre when the theft occurred. He allegedly used a forklift to move pallets of Red Bull before loading them into a van. Authorities say he also previously attempted to steal a pallet jack and a scale.
Court Proceedings
His trial was scheduled for Monday in Assen, but he failed to appear. “He prefers to be unreachable,” the judge remarked. To ensure he is heard, the Public Prosecution Service will send a new summons to an address linked to his mother, which he had used in the past.
It is not yet clear when the case will return to court.
