This annual event, which celebrates diversity and inclusiveness, rotates locations each year and promises a day filled with festivities. This year, Pride Groningen and Pink Saturday are joining forces to create an unforgettable celebration. Here’s a rundown of what to expect:

Pride Groningen, an event dedicated to celebrating love and individuality, aligns with the ethos of Pink Saturday. The event emphasises the motto, "Be who you are & love who you want," and this year, the combined celebration will amplify the message of acceptance and love.
Events and Activities
Friday, June 21:
- Pride at UMCG: An exhibition by Open Mind featuring 21 intersex individuals is on display at the UMCG until June 25. This free exhibition highlights the experiences of intersex people, aiming to raise awareness and promote inclusivity.
- Synagogue: “Eer de Haan”: A musical theatre production about the life of Jacob Israel de Haan will be held at the Synagogue Groningen at 16:00. Tickets are €17, including access to an exhibition about de Haan.
- Pathe Pink Friday Film Night: Cinema Pathe will host a Pink Friday film night featuring the comedy "Stage Mother" at 20:00. Tickets are €14 and include champagne and a quiz.
- Dorothy’s Drag Bar: Rose Karaoke Party: Starting at 21:00, this free event invites everyone to join in for a night of karaoke at Dorothy’s Drag Bar.
Saturday, June 22:
- Akerk: Pink Celebration: The day starts with a mass at the Akerk from 10:00 to 11:00. From 13:00 to 17:00, the church will host various events, including a chance to declare love in the presence of wedding officials and an exhibition by artist Janaina Mello Landini.
- Museum aan de A: Pink Podium: From 13:00 to 20:00, enjoy performances and activities, including a story café, drag performances, and music by DJs Daniel Matthix and Sebbus.
- Dorothy’s Drag Show: Keta Minaj: Featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race Queen Keta Minaj, this drag show runs from 20:00 to 03:00. Tickets are €5 at the door.
- The Forum: Pink Saturday for Kids (3+): A family-friendly event from 11:00 to 12:30 with drag queen storytime, face painting, and dress-up activities. Additionally, the VR experience "Body of Mine" will be available from 11:00 to 17:00.
- Grote Markt: Pink Podium: Live performances from 13:00 to 00:00 featuring artists like Babs, Willeke Alberti, and Gustaph.
- Pride Walk: Starting at 11:30 from Ossenmarkt, the Pride Walk will parade through the city centre until 13:30.
- Zwanestraat Street Party: From 16:30 to 00:00, enjoy a street party with DJs Pieter van der Zweep and Anastasia von Beaverhausen.
Afterparties
- Huize Maas: A party for lesbians from 22:00 to 03:00 with Janey. Tickets are €9.
- Palace: The official after-party from 23:00 to 05:00 hosted by Misfit Club Nights, featuring a show by Alter a Go. Tickets are available on the Pride Groningen website.
