Share Your Photos of Grote Markt for Exhibition 'Then and Now’
Local residents are invited to submit their best photos for an upcoming exhibition on Groningen’s iconic central square.
In May and June, a special photo exhibition titled “The Grote Markt Then and Now” will take place in the atrium of the Groot Handelshuis on the Grote Markt. The exhibition, organised by real estate developer MWPO, will feature photos that capture the history and character of this central city square through the years.
To create a meaningful and personal display, MWPO is calling on Groningen residents to share their own photos—whether they’re historic images or recent snapshots. The organisers are also interested in the stories behind the pictures to help provide context and bring the images to life.
Photos can be submitted until May 9 by emailing pr@mwpo.nl with the subject line “Grote Markt exhibition submission.” Please indicate whether the photo is royalty-free or if a source should be credited.
The goal of the exhibition is to show how the Grote Markt has evolved over time and to highlight the perspectives of the people who live in the city. With help from the community, the exhibition aims to paint a rich visual story of Groningen’s most iconic square.
