Shooting Incidents at Vismarkt and Vinkhuizen, Police Calls for Witnesses and Information
On Wednesday evening at 8:50 PM, a shooting incident took place at Vismarkt in Groningen. The incident resulted in the injury of a 23-year-old resident of Sappemeer, who was promptly given medical attention in an ambulance. Fortunately, the victim did not require hospitalization. The street has been closed off, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.
In a separate incident, several people reported shots being fired with a pellet gun from a passing car, including in Vinkhuizen and the city centre. One man was almost hit in the eye by one of those balls by a co-driver. He was injured in the forehead and called 112. It is alleged that shots were fired with a pellet gun or an airsoft gun, but no arrests have been made as of yet.
