Jouw Grote Markt Festival Coming This Saturday
Mark your calendars! The activities on the Grote Markt are almost finished and to celebrate that, Jouw Grote Markt Festival (Your Grote Markt Festival) will take place on Saturday, June 1.
During this free event -which starts at noon- there will be plenty of activities. In addition to music and dance, you can take an audio tour about the history of the Grote
Markt and visit the theater performances.
There is more to see and do in the area. You can attend choir performances at the Martini Church, enjoy an open house with guided tours at the student association Vindicat and the Grand Theater, and visit the Town Hall to see archaeological artifacts from the Grote Markt. In the evening, it's time to party!
The evening begins with a parade by the Broken Brass Ensemble. This is followed by a variety of artists who ensure that everyone's feet leave the ground!
You might get hungry and thirsty from all the dancing, therefore, you can go to the foodcourt with snacks and bars with XL terraces.
Keep in mind that they will use recyclable cups and charge €2 for the first drink. Retain your cup in good condition so that you can return it for your next drink while only paying the deposit once. Are you heading home? Return your cup to the return point and receive a refund of €1.50 per cup.
The first series of events is scheduled to begin at 12:00, and the festival will last until 00:00.
