What to Do in Groningen in June
We compiled a list full of fun and diverse activities for you to try out in June!
1 June - Jouw Grote Markt Festival
We have already prepared a dedicated article for that occasion, so I will keep it short. This festival is helping to celebrate the end of reconstructions held on Grote Markt for the past few months. Link to that article you can find here.
1 - 2 June - FOODTRUCK FESTIVAL MEERSTAD
A stone's throw away from Groningen, at Meerstad, a food truck festival will be held. You can expect local and international cuisine surrounded by a unique atmosphere. The entrance to the event is free!
6 June - PLATENBEURS (Record Fair)
After visiting cities such as Rotterdam, Hague and Utrecht PLATENBEURS is coming to Groningen. If you’re a person that enjoys music played on a piece of quality equipment, or if you like to collect records, it is definitely something for you.
7 - 9 Bierfestival050
Is there anything better than a bottle of cold beer on a sunny day? Bierfestival050 comes to Groningen to give you a chance to try various types of beer from different regions of the Netherlands, combined with music played by DJ and 2-course meal.
8 June - Maakfestival
I’m working with a tight word limit, and really have no idea how to describe this event shortly. If Thomas Edison were to organise a function with Leonardo da Vinci, this is what it might look like. Check it out for yourself!
12 June - Buitenspeeldag
A great occasion for parents with children. In a whole city, multiple little events will be held. It is organised by Jantje Beton and children's channel Nickelodeon to promote outdoor activities among children
15 June - GLORIOUS FIGHT EVENTS 2024
Just by looking at the title you already know what to expect. It is a martial arts event where you can see two headline Enfusion world title fights: Matthew Daalman vs. Rida Bellahcen and Nina van Dalum vs. Angelique Mathea.
15 June - Stadspark Parkrun
For those of you who enjoy running, it is a perfect opportunity to meet some new people who share the same hobby. Every Saturday at 9:00 AM a 5-kilometre run is held. Participation is fully free - just remember to register on their website!
16 June - Klein Berlijn
Berlin is coming to Grote Markt! Expect a mix of vintage clothing, accessories, and furniture, with the addition of local DJs and delicious snacks from local food trucks.
20 June - New Energy Forum 2024

22 - 23 June - MARKT VAN HET NOORDEN
Explore the expansive three-acre Market of the North, where you can browse a variety of stalls featuring everything from handmade and vintage items to organic and vinyl products, enjoy live music, and partake in family-friendly activities including theatre and an Experience Forest.
28 June - Flonk Friday
